My Google Business Profile was suspended after I changed the address. What should I do?
An address change makes the profile look different from what was verified before, so it can trigger a fresh review, and a suspension follows if the new address or the details around it do not clearly fit the guidelines. Make sure the new address is a real, eligible location with signage, update your website and other listings to match, and appeal with documents that show the business at the new address.
Steps after a suspension that followed a move
- Confirm the new address is eligible. It must be a location where the business operates, not a PO box, a remote mailbox or a rented mailing address you do not operate from (a virtual office). If you now work from home and customers do not visit, set a service area and hide the address.
- Check the address format. Enter the address exactly as the postal service writes it, including the suite or unit number. A missing unit number in a shared building can make the location hard to confirm.
- Update your website first. Change the address on your contact page, footer and any location pages so it matches the profile. The reviewer should see the same address on the site the profile links to.
- Update other places your address appears. Correct the address on directories, social profiles and invoices you control. Old addresses left in many places make it harder to confirm where the business is.
- Put up permanent signage. If customers visit the new location, make sure your business name is visible on the building or unit. Take clear photos that show the sign and the street context.
- Gather proof of the new location. A lease or rental agreement page, a utility bill or a business licence showing the new address are the most useful. Use only documents genuinely issued to the business.
- Mention the move in your appeal. State the old address, the new one and the date you moved, and attach the proof. Keep it short and factual. Google accepts one appeal per decision, so send it only when everything is in place. Google accepts one appeal per decision, so send it only when everything is in place.
If the old location is still showing
If an old profile for the previous address still exists, mark it as permanently closed rather than leaving two active profiles for the same business. Mention this in your appeal.
When a done-for-you pack helps
The pack helps when you have moved, updated the details and still are not sure what the reviewer sees as wrong. For local businesses, we check the listing details and public website you send against the business representation guidelines, list the fixes for name, address, category, hours and website, give an evidence checklist suited to a recent move, add notes on what a verification video usually needs to show, and draft the appeal for you to submit.
No subscription and no extra fees. Delivered by email within 24 hours of your order. Covers one business location.

Questions
Why would changing my address cause a suspension?
An address edit changes a key detail that was confirmed before, so the profile may be reviewed again. If the new address is hard to confirm, looks like a mailbox or virtual office, or does not match your website, the review can end in a suspension. Matching details everywhere and having proof of the new location reduces that doubt.
Should I change the address back to the old one?
Only if the business genuinely still operates there. The profile should show where the business actually is now. Switching addresses back and forth adds more edits for the reviewer to question. Keep the correct current address, fix any formatting or eligibility problems, and appeal with documents for that location.
I moved my business home. Can I still have a profile?
Yes, in many cases. If customers do not visit your home, set the profile as a service-area business, list the areas you serve and hide the street address. If customers do visit, the home address can be shown, but it should be a place where you actually receive them during stated hours.
